Schools Of Sanctuary

At St. Ethelwold’s VA School, we are proud to be working towards the Schools of Sanctuary Award, demonstrating our commitment to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all students, especially those seeking refuge. Our initiatives focus on fostering understanding, respect, and support within our community, ensuring that every child feels valued and welcomed. Through education, awareness, and compassionate action, we aim to create a nurturing space where everyone can thrive. There will be events to be confirmed, involving both parents and pupils in the near future. If you have any questions in regard to this please speak to Miss Pugh, Miss Gorrell or Miss McCormick, who are responsible and excited about working towards the award.

We recognise the contribution of people seeking sanctuary. People seeking sanctuary are welcomed, included and supported within our context.

We are willing for our organisation’s name to be added to a list of supporters of City of Sanctuary, linked to our website. We are also willing to be contacted by City of Sanctuary with further ideas for how we can turn our support into practical action and to discuss ways we might work together to promote the vision further.”
